Thermal vision ofte means infra red (IR) vision. IR is not visible to the Human eye. Therefore thermal vision can be used to visualise something that we normally do not see. One example is the thermography (thermal photography) of an electrical cabinet. Sometimes connections go loose or somewhat loose. Then there will be a larger resistance where the cable terminates. A larger resistance results in that heat will be generated, maybe not much and not visible without thermography. Thermography is therefore used in the preventive service/check of industrial electrical installations. It is common in Denmark to have your house thermographed in order to locate any “cold bridges” in the building insulation. This directly indicates where to do a makeup of the insulation
